I need to be boxed up today. That or put on my stationary bike to work off the massive amounts of hyperactivity I have.
It’s not coffee or anything, though I did have my usual cup this morning, and a little dark chocolate, and 1 dark chocolate-covered nut of some sort (I think it was a cashew?).
I was at Zellers today, and they have new yarn! Bernat’s been working, and while they didn’t particularly listen on the bamboo and soy/acrylic fronts, there are still some promising new yarns to see:
Bernat Sox, which I gather was around before, discontinued, and is back. I’ve only seen black and drab grey before in Ch’town, so I was excited to see this sock yarn. If I get my job next week, I’ll go back and get some, but today I was limiting myself since I made some purchases.
There’s also Bernat Jacquards, which might also be a sock yarn? I’m not sure, I didn’t see it in person, I just saw it on the website. It’s fine and has nylon, so hey, maybe it’s for self-patterning socks.
And now, what has me most excited, is the Bernat Cot’n Corn, which is a cotton/corn blend, and, the colours don’t all suck! Okay, yes, there aren’t loads of spectacular colours, but I like the avocado and nectarine. I could and would make something with those colours. I didn’t buy any today, though, because…
Bernat Satin now has Heathers, and I particularly wanted the Plum Mist Heather. I bought all 6 balls that were there, which is something like 970 yards, and that was it for my yarn for today. It’s gorgeous, I tried taking pictures, but it doesn’t quite capture it:
Now that I’ve spread the love all over the Ravelry forums and over here, I’m torn between working on my February Lady Sweater (which is done in an Acrylic/Tencel yarn that I got for crazy cheap at a Zellers clearance. It’s Palette yarns, #087, Flinders The websites a little unfun, so click on the Zellers link beside the Canadian flag, scroll down, then look for Flinders. I’m using Thyme.)
Or making a gauge swatch in the purple. Or, really, making gauge swatch pictures of the Feb Lady sweater yarn, which I need to do as well to post on the blog. Adamas is on the side a little now.

But what do you want that lovely purple yarn to be?
And why do you need to make gauge swatch pix of the FLS yarn, if you’re as far along as you are?
Unless you’re planning a FLS in the purple, too?!!!
Beware!
You are just SO prolific. How do you do it??? I knit constantly, but you put me to shame. You must be a speed demon with the sticks.
The purple yarn’s either going to be a top (like a tank top), or possibly a worsted weight shawl. Or maybe a little bolero top that’s mostly just sleeves. I have ideas, just haven’t decided yet. (this yarn would be beautiful for a FLS, though! I actually did start to make a little swatch, knit a few rows to see what it would look like in stockinette.)
And I like to make swatches of new and interesting yarns, in both knitting and crochet, to put up here for information. I’ve done a few of those before, under swatches I think. I also have more of this tencel/acrylic in black that I want to make something with
Sarah, to answer your question, I don’t have a job. I’m actually not sure if you have one, maybe you do, but that’s really that main reason for all this time I have. My previous job let me knit and crochet there, so I still got a lot done (it was a crappy call center job that drove me crazy, so I couldn’t stay and remain sane). It’s possible that I’ll have an interview next week for a new job, though, so if that happens, there will be less stuff. (I’m also just getting out of a long-term relationship and I’m not dating at the moment, so there are also no love interests/dating).
