After a long birthing period, it’s finished. Serenity.
Mine is knit with dishcloth cotton (a mistake, I should have used cotton-ease), and it got unwieldy after a while. Like it wasn’t just a blanket, but a living creature on my lap that occasionally shed cotton fiber on me (probably from working in the round and the stitches being squished together).
I like how it turned out, and even though the yarn on the outside, after the eyelets, has different-coloured specs than the inside (I ran out of Sonoma Print and had to use Potpourri, but it’s still the same undyed-ish colour). It looks like I meant to do that, actually, which is great. I also didn’t do the edging properly on a couple of sides because I was frustrated with it but that, thankfully, is also not noticeable. At least, not to me.
There are two more pictures on Ravelry, but this is the jist of it. I didn’t notice my fingernail was still in the picture until it was on Rav, I wondered what that was in the corner, then I realized.
Next is Adamas, which is also a free, online pattern. It’s my first laceweight shawl, and I’m getting the hang of working with the skinny yarn. The picture above shows the shawl just after the 7th repeat of chart 2 (it’ll be over twice that length when finished).
It’s At Sea because the yarn is called Seaweed, a handpainted Tencel yarn from Yarntopia Treasures. This is the first yarn that I’ve ordered from any etsy site, and I’m really pleased with it. I hope to be able to order from a Canadian seller next time, especially from someone in the Atlantic Canada region (to be local), but if not I’d definitely order from from her again.
Oh, and as an update on the Carbonized Bamboo that I talked about recently, a local friend of mine bought some (in fiber form) and showed it to me. It’s very beautiful and soft, like touching a kitten.

Serenity is beautiful! Lovely, lovely knitting.
The Adamas shawl is lovely! I just got some of that same yarn in a yellow colorway.
That Serenity took my breath away…
I am glad you came to visit my blog, now I have someone else to come and visit too. I really like your Serenity blanket. It is beautiful.
