Autumn

I knit my second and probably final Sheldon pattern, for my mother. It’s not that I dislike the pattern, but I don’t like making the same thing many times. Anyway, no real modifications this time except for using crochet instead of the i-cord bind off, and I used most of the rest of the Vanna’s Choice yarn (the green ones). There are small balls left, but those can go on my scrap afghan. Not sure what to do with the yellow yet, but I’ll find something.
I had to frog all of Alice because I was off on my calculations - I needed another 14 stitches. But I restarted it, and though it was harder to stay interested in it, I’m almost done of the body again. I just need to do another dozen or two rows on the back upper, seam the shoulders, and do the neckline. I still have one partial sleeve done. I love how the yarn works up and the colours, I just hope that I did it right this time.
Probably everyone who reads knitty.com knows this by now, but the new knitty is out. There are a lot of great patterns this time, but I particularly want to make http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall07/PATTcherieamour.html Not in that yarn, of course. I’m not sure what yarn to use yet, but I’ll see. I was thinking of using some stash yarn that’s a light grey colour (that I got at Value Village), but I don’t think I’d wear that in a light grey. In fact, the grey yarn is probably going to go for gift knitting.

Happy Birthday!
Thanks
