k2sc1 means knit 2 single crochet 1, a (weird) combination of two of my favourite hobbies.
I want this to be a blog for my finished projects in both knitting and crochet, as well as works in progress, posts on yarn and tools (hooks, needles, etc), what’s going on in the knitting and crochet worlds, and related topics. I’m vegan, so I don’t use any animal fibers. Right now, that mostly leaves me with acrylic and cotton, though I’m hoping to move on to bamboo, soy, linen, flax, cotton blends, and other synthetic and plant materials.
It’s winter right now, so I currently have a sweater on the needles (Under the Hoodie from Stitch and Bitch), as well as various other small projects. This december, I got some Red Heart Soft yarn in a beautiful shade of red (Cherry), but had no idea what to do with it. So I started making a Little Black Top (from Stitch and Bitch), but in red. I probably won’t finish it until it’s warm enough to wear it anyway, I just had to start it.
For crochet, I’m working on a small cap for my sister made of camoflage yarn, mostly as an experiment. I have a bad habit of starting a small crochet project, working on it for a half hour, then putting it down, so I also have a small star pillow with only one arm done, and the top part of a blue-grey, amigurimi octopus.
